hi. I recently found out i have LS. i got prescribed an steroid cream, but it does not seem to help. my dr said give it more time. But i am in so much pain. I can not sleep. Night time is the worse. I have been fighting this for 8 months. This pain has been unbearable. I finally found out this was the issue in jan. The cream did help. But this is so off and on i am having a really tough time dealing with the pain. What does every one do to help with the pain if the cream isnt? I called my DR. she said give it 2 more weeks and is then brining me back in. But she said i am on what is supposed to be helping. So i do not think i will get much of an answer when i go back. Does anyone have some advice that can help me. especially at night to try to get rid of the pain so i can sleep. I am exhausted. I think i got a total of 6 hours of sleep these last few nights. I cant keep doing this. And after reading this is a life long condition, Idk how much more i can take. Please all advice is welcome. I need to get rid of this pain.

i think you can give the medication prescribed more time. plz discuss this with your doctor. some meds take time to become effective, very normal.
i am not a doctor have no medical background or your medical history. reason for referring you with ur doc, it is best to continue with your current doc.

what is your routine? are you using Clob steroid? is it burning pain or stabbing pain? There are so many other alternatives such as Lisepten specifically designed for LS, emuaid which can be bought fairly easily in pharmacies, are you moisturising your vulva every time after a wee, are you spraying your vulva with a peribottle with water after the toilet visit as urine can antagonise the skin there. Don't just rely on clob. I use a barrier cream at night called cavilon to prevent any irritation during the night and in the long run tryihng to limit the chances of labias fusing. There is lidnocaine gel that come individually so you can apply this as an anesthetic to the area to get relief from pain.
