I need work advice.

I’ve just started a temp 12 week job however my 2 frozen shoulders are making life very difficult and the pain is making impossible to work. I see a new specialist on the 10th of nov but don’t know what to do about work. I live by myself and have no other way to support my self except for unemployment benefits.

Help, it’s getting to the point where I can barely lift either arm and getting shoulder and nerve pain into my wrists.

I don’t know what to do 😢😥

    Hi Burtpies,

If you can't work, and with two frozen shoulders, and no sure where to turn next - I would encourage you to keep returning here to this blog (if you don't have any good friends who believe you and who you can talk with) and book some regular appointments with your local doctor and explain your situation, tell them that you're not sure what to do, and ask for their help. They should be empathetic to your situation and should be able to help you figure out how to get through the next few months. I really feel for you - having been through, and still getting over, double frozen shoulders myself. You are not alone, and I encourage you to keep going back to your doctor when you feel that you can't cope or you need support. Wishing you some better days. smile

Sorry hit wrong button. GP support is vital if you have to work. Ask for  proper painkillers for a start. I am greatly helped by a drug called Pregablin, which has allowed me to continue work. However I have had to give up some work that I cannot do e.g Choral directing. I don’t know what you work at, but I do know using the arms makes the pain worse. Lifting anything heavier than a cup sets mine off on a tangent even with hefty painkillers. Straws are helpful, I have a gripper stick for picking things out of cupboards.

    Hi Burtpies

I’m so sorry to hear about your situation, it’s very difficult to advise you as I only know from my own experience that resting definitely helps with the pain, it would be easy to say stay off work but I am fortunate enough to get sick pay, I agree with the other replies though, you need to go back to your GP and perhaps get a different form of pain relief to see if that will help to alleviate some of the pain, you could try the citizens advice bureau to see if  they can offer any guidance. Try perhaps speaking with your new employer to see if their is a role that they can find for you  which would be less exacerbating to your arms.... I really feel for you, good luck with your appointment, I hope you get the help you need.
