I noticed 2 or 3 days ago some bumps on my vagina

So basically 2/3 days ago I noticed some bumps I thought they were bites!
My boyfriend suffers with cold sores but I think we have been pretty careful, when he has one not to kiss but we still have unprotected sex.
I haven't seen him in just under a week and all of a sudden (been with him 4 months now) I have these bumps on my vagina lips and on inside including right by my clit! It's pretty sore and itchy too!
I've never suffered with anything like this before and I am not sure what it is because they are not like blisters at all, they are just sore bumps.
I had an STI test (just swab) a few months ago after sleeping with my current partner and all was clear!
I've been doing the classic google and basically I'm convinced I have genital herpies but I have no blisters 2/3 days down the line! Can anyone help?
I don't know how to add a photo but I will try to and if anyone has an opinion please voice it !

Sometimes the blisters can be tiny and not really look or feel like blisters (plus it's hard to see down there clearly or up close!), or if on mucosal skin, they can quickly pass/skip the blistering stage. If herpes, they will eventually ulcerate, forming pitted ulcers that look like oral canker sites. Scabbing only happens on regular skin.
Best thing is to get down to a clinic asap and have the area swabbed and typed for herpes. The swab is best and is most accurate on new (versus old) lesions, so don't miss this opportunity to rule it in or out. Photos can be added to the desktop site.

Thank you! Yes I haven't got the blisters at all, but they are a sort of scab? Well some are, other are just a bump that looks like a heat bump ! Unfortunately I am going on holiday with him on Wednesday so I will have to avoid the obvious until I get the results!

Even when there are no visible sores, such as oral cold sores, it is possible to spread both HSV1 and HSV2, the viruses that cause herpes. HSV1 tends to be associated with oral herpes (cold sores), but especially when engaging in oral sex, it can be passed between the mouth and genitals.
It sounds like your partner could have given it to you. In fact, he could have had it on his genitals previously, and simply been asymptomatic. Not everyone with the virus has outbreaks, and many don't even know that have (and potentially pass on) herpes.
You may simply have some kind of rash as well, but I would recommend going to your OBGYN, or local Planned parenthood, as soon as possible! It's always better to know sooner rather than later, and if you find out you do have herpes, they will perscribe anti-virals (helps shorten outbreaks).
Some, myself included, also have flu like symptoms with their initial outbreak. This isn't always the case, but make sure to tell your doctor if it is (it may not just be a cold).
That was a lot of information, but most of all keep in mind that you'll be OK whether or not you end up having herpes. I was so scared and mortified when I found out, I was on somewhat of an emotional roller coaster. So it can be hard, but do your best to stay calm, and make an appointment to get checked for HSV as soon as possible (make sure to clarify herpes to your doctor as many STI screenings do NOT test for herpes).
Good luck, leave a comment if you have any other questions!

Thank you! Very helpful, I have done a lot of research since I first noticed he had a cold sore one time! I've read most things about herpies but not so much about genital herpies! It's painful and itchy down there
I am just wondering how long the outbreaks last and if they will be sore all the time.
I have also been reading that it can also affect your anus! I am not sure it I'm being paranoid but I feel like my ass is itchy and sore but that might be something totally different! I am just not having a good time down there atm!
Also it's really good to hear from someone who has gone through the same thing ! But I haven't been tested I'm pretty sure it must be
Are they any good over the counter things to tame the pain that you know of (From UK)

Get swab tested before your holiday, if you haven't alread done so, otherwise the test will lose accuracy. HSV1 is better to have genitally than HSV2, as it usually recurs/sheds less. See my pinned discussion at the top of this forum for more info and external links.
The entire outbreak can last between 2-4 weeks from first signs to *complete* healing, so 3 weeks on average. Each week within that period feels progressively better, so it's not a nightmare the entire time!
OTC lidocaine can be applied for topical pain relief. Sudocrem is good as a barrier cream and drying agent to help hasten healing, so it's good you're using that.

Yes, as Jscared mentioned, you don't need visible sores to transmit herpes. Virus can be shed 'silently' at random times unbeknownst to the carrier. If your bf has cold sores and if this is a herpes outbreak you are experiencing, it's in all likelihood HSV1.

HSV 1 and 2 are fairly similar.
They share much of the same DNA and genetic material
Traditionally, HSV 1 was thought of as the common cold sore, and HSV 2 as genital herpes. While HSV-2 is generally transferred during genital contact, either can spread above or below the waist.
Some people are asymptotic, and this can be the case for either strain, but HSV 2 is associated with more outbreaks. This varies by person, but for either strain, the initial outbreak tends to be the most severe. It's also not uncommon to only have the initial outbreak, and few to no subsequent outbreaks.
