1996 i had my first THR left side @ age 19 from seveeeere RA, 1998 i had a periacetabular ostiotomy w a 9 screw and plate addition to right side, that surgery i didnt get enough anesthetic and was aware and awake most of surgery and recall them sawing half my pelvis off and drilling screws into the bone. 15years i have managed only sleeping 2 hrs a night due to  horrible nerve damage, shooting electrical voltage thru the metal hip down my leg up to my finger tips. and when i say shooting electrical voltage, when it happens its like being tazered!  every muscle in my body locks up like a steal beam. sometimes i can walk a mile and it doesnt happen sometimes i can walk a half blocks and it happens, sometimes very violently, resulting in me looking like i have tourettes, sometimes karate choping or kicking my wife out of bed, ive put holes in the walls from sudden spasms. its restless leg/body times 1000.

The surgery was years ago. Unfortunately the surgery went wrong.

today surgeons have advanced methods for hip surgery. Have you seen a surgeon who specializes in hip dysplasia recently. I hope there is a way for this to be repaired. I can't imagine the daily suffering u endure.

I have been thru 3 THR 1 was recalled due to MOM. Revision is not a easy surgery any way u look at it. I will hope that there is a way for you to find a better way to find help, recovery and sleep. I don't sleep well since the revision as they had so much damage from the old MOM components.

i hope you find some peace and relief soon. Don't give up be insistent that there was simply errors made and neglence by the surgeon and anesthesiologist and perhaps it's time to seek legal council. I'm currently in a joint law suit ( pardon the pun ) for many of us who have suffered from these recalled implants.

So or sorry and I will keep you in my prayers.

    peace & heeling.

    HOPE

This must be awful to live with. Makes me very grateful that my only concern is stiffness. I hope you get it sorted. Best wishes.
