It all started last year I had muscle twitches then like fluttering and full blown muscle pulsing no pain I then started to get aches and pains .

After a while I started to ignore the twitches and I started having breathing problems doctors don't have a clue what I'm on about but I said it felt my muscle was jumping and locking as breathing .

23rd febuary I started having problems swallowing like my muscle is not working I still get twitches I smile and have facial twitches I sit and my arm twitches my neck does it constantly I still can't swallow right and laterly even though my speech is ok because the muscle at back of throat it feels soon I may no longer be ale to talk because already it's straining on me if that makes sence .

to be honest it's the first time in my life I have been scared to go to doctors so I keep not going .

I'm starting to have really bad random finger pain that deep inside toe pain it is really painful and everything feels diffrent my hearing ect .

I'm Dizzy constant my legs go weak and it like when somebody hits your reflex it auto bends down like it's giving away my muscle is like jelly in my leg and I have uncontrollable shaking in my feet and hands also my toung if i stick it out shakes right now my jaw well where my jaw line is twitching / shaking vibrating I know it's real but I have two small children how can I push myself to go and get diagnosed with something that's going to kill me ? Even my mum has said I hope you haven't got any of those diseases like als/mnd im so worried yet I can not go I can't if I get a diagnoise with it what good am I really non I already have depression I don't think im a strong enough person to carry on .

Well Steph, it's scary because you're a mum but you know what you have to do. There are many conditions that cause such symptoms and most of them do not have drastic outcomes and can be managed with treatment. I have a Neuro disorder that causes tremors in my arms, hands, legs , feet and lower jaw and tongue. I am on medication which reduces the muscle jerks and tremors. It is a lifelong condition but NOT terminal. The sooner you are diagnosed the better the outcome whatever it is.

please get to GP, you would advise the sameΒ

    all the best

For me it's worse not knowing and I would kick myself if I could have prevented the condition worsening by not getting treatment. Good luck and go to GP - keep us updated.

So sorry your going thru all this. I have some simular symptoms you might have read. I actually got checked. I urge you to start the process. It was long for me. I did not like my neurologist. He could not find nothing. He sent me to neuromuscular dystrophy dr. Went for my first visit and i am starting the ruling out process again. They dont want to discuss anything until mri is done on neck and back. I urge you to go. Its so important. I go to the als center and there is so many muscle diseases out there and so much they can do. I see people who walk like me getting treatment right there. Dont be scared. Dont give up. I didnt, i keep pushing for another doctor and got my way. Please i have kids, i know we want to still go for walks and do things with them while we still know its possible we can right. If its fixable, catching something early can be treated faster and better.

Try not to worry. I had most of your symptoms and more. I have been diagnosed with vitamin b12 deficiency. Look up symptoms of pernicious anaemia. It is treated by regular b12 injections.

Hi. Is your mum a strong person? If so, make a doctor's appointment, tell her when it is and ask her to come with you (right into the appointment, so that you don't back out of saying what's wrong)! I know from experience that stressing about symptoms alone makes them ten times worse. You end up not sleeping properly through worrying at night. This makes you more stressed and more worried during the day. It's a recipe for disaster. Especially as you already suffer from depression. Twitching, shaking and trembling can all be caused or made worse by tiredness and stress. Are you on any medication? This could also be causing it. Self diagnosing something terrible is not helping you. You need to get your doctor to rule out more simple solutions first. If your mum is not strong enough to take charge, have you got a friend who could help? Good luck and please let us know how you get on. Debbie
