I really need someone to talk to about this

I was eating a chicken nugget, just a few minutes ago, I usually chew very thoroughly, but my body decided to swallow a small piece of chicken nugget I wasn't finish chewing on and I already started panicking and worrying which my anxiety is making it x10 worst, I called my doctor if I should go to the ER or not, he answered my concerns and I told him the food feels stuck on the side of my throat, he answered me and told me if it's a small piece and I didn't choke immediately then I'm mostly fine. I'm able to drink, talk and breathe normally, so he thinks my situation is not life threatening, but my anxiety is making me believe it's stuck, even though water and food is going down just fine. So he told me not to go to the ER. But I'm still worried if I might die or not. Should I just listen to my doctor?

Linda, if you can breathe, talk and swallow normally, and if your doctor says everything is fine, try to relax. You just feel like you have something stuck. However, if you are still not convinced, chew a nice piece of bread and swallow it. This method is one of those grandma recipes for when you have something stuck in your throat.

there is a sure sign that somebody is choking. And that is when they grab their throat. If you are not doing that then you’re fine.
