I really, really want to have a bath

Am now 22 days post-op (non-weight-bearing). Our shower is clogged and because of the holidays we can't get it fixed before Tuesday (without paying exhorbitant fees).

I would really, really like to take a bath. I don't have one of those bath boards and wouldn't feel safe on one anyway. Would it be okay for me to just jump in at this stage after the op? Have a mat right next to the tub so I wouldn't be stepping out onto slippery tiles. We don't have any grab rails, but our towel rack partially hangs over the tub so I could use that.

agree with racing cat - wait and have strip wash - I strip washed for the whole 6 weeks. I needed help at first after that to get my leg over the bath edge to use my in bath shower. I had my first bath several weeks later.

Glad you didn't try to get in the bath! I'm none weight bearing and told not to try to shiwer as its over the bath. 16 days post op and yesterday my husband helped me to slide over the side of bath and supported me while I stood on one leg and showered. Think there was more water on him!
