I reduce intake of Amlodipine 10mg as directed by my doctor to 5mg, I felt its high doseage. Does that has any effect with irregular heart beat?

hi mbj, I am not sure what you are asking, are you talking about palpatations when reducing amlodipine. if you have been reduced to 5 mg you can have your metabolism upset a bit but it should settle down in a day or two, if that's not what your asking could you give a bit more detail.

    Hello MBJ

Yes, like Len, I was a bit unsure exactly what you were asking, but if you are in any doubt then you should seek the advice of your GP or pharmacist.

Palpitations are classed as a less common side-effect but no reason at all why you should not suffer it.

I would report your experience to GP. I have experience of suffering palpitations (later diagnosed as paroxysmal atrial fibrillation) shortly after starting another BP lowering drug. Don't delay see your GP and insist on a change in meds. Don't take no for an answer.
