So it depends on your doctors approach. I was in a splint for two weeks and then a boot for 6 weeks weight bearing i did not walk without crutches until almost 3 mos. Mostly it depends on you once they tell you its ok. Im five mos post op and im still very weak in my leg still going threw PT. Its a long process 6 mos to a year and patience is key, you don't want to re-injury yourself.

I ruptured my right foot Achilles tendon Feb 15 and went to the orthopedic specialist that same night hoping to get the process started early. I had surgery Feb 26 where my foot was in a cast pointed at 45-degree angle and crutches thinking that I could get back to work in 2 weeks. Well, when I went back to the specialist March 12 they took off the 1st cast and put on another but this one with my foot at a 90-degree angle. Needless to say, I can walk without being so crutch-dependent but I have another 2 weeks with this one and crutches. I will go back March 26 to get the final cast removed then be allowed to drive.
