I sent this to the clinic where I am a patient

I received a call about ten minutes ago and were very concerned and they are going to follow-up on this. Manager will call me this afternoon

EMAIL: I am a patient at the clinic located at ______ I have the following complaints:

(1)Not one doctor has solved my problem.

(2)Many times you never see the same doctor every time you come to the clinic - it is whomever is there

(3)The procedure to see the main doctor is cumbersome: Why do we have to see two doctors. One to just ask us questions as to why we are visiting and in addition to ask us tons of questions instead of just talking to us and finding out why we came to the clinic.

(4)They ask questions as if they are reading it on a sheet and then you have to answer whatever question was on that sheet whether or not it pertains to why you are there in the first place. Yes asking questions is important but many of these questions has nothing to do with the visit. They should listen to the complaint and ask questions around the complaint.

(5)I have been having the same symptoms since last year and not one doctor at the clinic has helped me in solving what I have.

(6)The doctors first thought I had anxiety so they gave me medication for it. Medication did not help; then they thought I had motion sickness so they sent me to an ENT.

(7)Also (except for exceptions) the waiting time is too long and last time the doctor that I was supposed to see was out sick and the PCP that I was supposed to see left the clinic to open his own practice. No one in the office had the decency to telephone me to let me know about this. So when I came to the clinic I waited and waited to see someone. And I would have waited all morning if I didn’t speak up. I told them my time is just as valuable. It is very rare that a staff member comes out and asks you if you have been waiting a long time.

(8)In addition every doctor is in a hurry and just gives you any diagnosis. Most doctors don’t even talk to the patient they mostly talk about the patient to one another while the patient is right there.

(9)Most of the time I am telling them what I think is wrong with me..

(10)I just want to be diagnosed with what I have -plain and simple.

(11)In addition they read the lab reports wrong. The doctor came in and said my thyroid was a little underactive. I told her this is impossible because I cannot gain weight. However, the next day when I spoke to another doctor they read the report and said “Your tests came out perfectly normal”.

(12)The clerical staff makes to many appointments in one day.

(13)If this is a teaching hospital have both doctors come in at the same time not one doctor then the other.

YOUR SURVEY QUESTIONNAIRE HAS TO BE REVAMPED:

(1)The questions do not make any sense.

(2)The questions you ask should be done away with and not be asked in the survey - instead send a form where we can answer in short paragraphs.

(3)The type of questions that would be good to answer in a paragraph would be describing my experience, tell you what happened in the examining room and things of that nature.

(4)Most of those questions I am really not sure how to answer.

(5)Your surveys are good if you were asking questions about a product you were selling.

(6)However, when a person comes to see a doctor these questions are not answerable.

(7)These survey questions are not questions that would help us get our point across and help you

Have you tried inhaling menthol?  Use something like an Olbas stick or a Vicks stick

Have you had a cold recently or do you suffer from any allergies?
