    Hi Alice,

Would I be right in thinking you're very young? Probably still in your teens.

This kind of thing is quite normal for teenagers.

You should, however, get a general check-up with a doctor - basic blood tests, that kind of thing, just to make sure there isn't a physical problem. You don't need to see a special kind of doctor for that.

Sorry for the mistake! But you still need to get a general check-up.

This could be lots of things. Infectious mononucleosis (aka glandular fever, the kissing disease etc.) comes to mind. This principally affects the under-30s. Your symptoms would also fit Lyme disease, or even anaemia or an underactive thyroid. All of these can be picked up by blood tests ordered by a general practitioner.

Yes once the doctor's tests rule out anything major, let us know.

Most people only need 7-8 hours sleep a night, and even if you are stressed or have an illness, 9-10 hours max.

Could be also an allergy, or your mattress is not suitable.

Besides that there are a few other things needed for good sleep which are mostly common sense but can be easy to forget.  Temperature (not too hot or cold), clean room and regularly cleaned bed sheets, not too noisy, and as dark as possible.

There is also a whole approach you can use, too, called sleep hygeine.  Most of it is common sense, but some of it you may not know.  Essentially its creating a time before bed where you can wind down and prepare naturally for sleep.

Try to adhere these things, but don't obsess, because they're not a hard science.

If you have any other bad habits that might affect your sleep, try to minimise them.  Also make sure you are eating well and getting some fresh air outside every day.
