I started a new dosage...

I've been taking 40 mg of prozac for about 6 weeks. About a week ago my psychaitrist gave me the okay to up my dosage to 60 mg a day. I've been doing that for three weeks, but I still feel depressed. I felt great about 4 or 5 weeks into prozac, then I sort of leveled out and felt more depressed again. Will the 20 mg increase truly help me?
I'm not sure that it matters, but I'm also taking trazadone at night.

Hi David,
Have you spoken to your doctor about how you are feeling?
It might be that this is not the right tablet for you.
Don't suffer alone, if you don't feel like thing's are improving then make an appointment.
I still get good and bad days despite being on them.
Big hugs

I haven't spoken to him. I always feel like I need to wait a bit longer until I can actually feel the medicine to work. I also just got back to college and am already super busy doing things.

Absolutely. I take 2 mg fluoxetine and it works beautifully. Every time I have tried to increase the dose I have felt paradoxically very depressed. "Micro-dosing" SSRIs, especially Prozac, works extremely well for some people.

I use the powder in capsules. I open up the capsule and pour the powder into my hand. I've been doing it long enough to know how much to take.
