Hi joanne. Why did you stop without tapering when antidepressant discontinuation syndrome is so well known and publicised these days? Stopping any antidepressant without a tapering process, wether doing it yourself or after discussing it with your doctor, can be very perilous. This is because the process of recovery is very slow while the medication makes changes to the brain. To suddenly stop the medication brings extreme disruption after the brain becoming accustomed to the drug over years. The symptoms of discontinuation withdrawal are well known and bothersome and tapering needs to be carried out to keep withdrawal to a minimum. Stopping suddenly can create lots of problems that don't show immediately, along with a return of your original condition . You should discuss it with your doctor, though you have already stopped now 3 weeks. Take care.
