I stay awake at night until 2 o'clock in the morning wanting to sleep, and not managing, but when I do fall asleep, I sleep until midday, this isn't normal for me, and I just want ot sleep earlier, it sucks trying to sleep and knowing that makes it harder. I just want help, I am young and new to looking after myself, so please help.

Hi SA,I have a couple of things that you should try to get you sleeping pattern back to normal.

1 - no stimulants like coffee or energy drinks after 3pm

2  - try and exercise your body in the afternoons to naturally tire yourself out

3 - eat smaller high protein meal at night but limit carbs

4 - try meditating with deep breathing

5 - try drinking a sleepy time tea (this will relax your body with the herbs that are in it eg chamomile, velarian,Passion flower

    - if you try incorporating these things slowly into your daily routine you will notice changes,it sounds like your circadian rythym is out of whack,I find meditation and deep breathing helps me when my adrenalin is going, just give it time and you will notice changes. Good Luck

    cheers J

Hi SA its horrible when you can't get too sleep You could see a doctor and get help with sleep hygeine. The worst thing is to worry about it. Sometime its good to just relax but you can get books on sleep which might help

First I think the things that " jamie87239 " points out are important.

I have had the same problem like you have (but olso the problem with

waking up early i the morning). What I learned was to just ignore that I

could not fall asleep. The thing is to try to relax and enjoy the situaton.

As fast as I started to think about the sleep problem or if I had something else that mattered me I put the thought in a bag deep down to the left

in my mind. Now I do fine without pills. Music and sounds can help to disturb the thoughts that pop up. There is one app "relax mind" on google store with this and even yawns that they say will lure your brain that you are tired and it has a fade off volume which is good when you want to sleep.

    Good Luck
