"I'm home!"

What a day! Too right it was huge! I went on Rita Queen of speed and Nemesis! OMG well fast  We arrived early and thankfully the park was quite (ish). The weather was sunny but cold and I was very brave for my son by going on the rides UNTIL......

I had only been there 2hours and felt really cold and extremly tired :? UI had the BIGGEST tantrum ever by lunch - I just wanted to go home! I started to ache all over and HAD to sit down and if someone at that point had offered me a blanket I would of laid down and slept! Eventually after I had stopped stamping my feet and had a coffee we carried on but I knew then that I had reached my limits. I am not sure if I was purely running on addrenaline for my son but I managed to carry on but no more rides. I sat on a bench for 1 hour with a huge fish my son won! I remeber the words "Why dont you get a lightweight wheelchair" and those words of advice never seemed so real! I was so tired that it took every ounce of energy to get the monorail back to the car. I slept half the journey on the way back but woke with tremendous pain in my shoulders and elbows. I also still have my BIG throat. Tommorow is definatly a day of rest but i am scared to wake tommorow incase I feel all stiff and sore from both the rides and my ME.

I thank them for their support and understanding when at times my sheer stubborness and independance takes a battering!

    Hi there everyone smile

Have just had a look in 'Katie's Book of ME' and it states:

    What Causes ME?

Approx. two thirds of illness preceded by a viral infection

    Exhaustion or mental/emotional stress

    Exposure to chemicals/toxins

Repeated overactivity, inappropriate lifestyle, lack of rest

Traumatic event (major surgery, car accident)

So yes, stress can definitely be one of the causes of ME.sad

    Hi Dale,

In hindsight i have had some symptoms going back a couple of years. My symptoms started with complete body ache for 3 weeks before the joint swelling and now just pain. I had body aches in the past lasting for weeks but just ignored it. My G.P told me to join the gym smile

I did and it settled eventually, but have had the tiredness for long time. feeling tired when you wake up etc.

Must speak to my G.P about the stress reasons.

p.s. looking at Katie's book, i also had to have a hysterectomy 9 days after my 40th birthday due to cervical cancer cells.

    It all adds up!
