I take Lexapro already, but am having a horrible choking feeling at night now. What should I do?

I have been taking Lexapro 20mg for several years for Anxiety. I have tolerated it well, and it has helped a lot! Over the past 2 years, I have had an on and off choking feeling at late hours as soon as I relax to watch TV, or go to bed. This past month, it is EVERY night, and seems worse if I eat any sweets prior to relaxing. Is this a break through of Anxiety, or does it mean I need to decrease my Lexapro dose? Please help! I dread relaxing at night 🥺

if you’re not sure what to do let your doctor know or ask a pharmacist. They would know the medication better than anybody and if the dose needs to be adjusted. But the choking feeling can also result from anxiety and stress. You could try to relax your mind more at night. Listen to a soothing meditation for anxiety on YouTube. Hope you feel better
