I think 150mg might be too high.

I have been on 150mg for 8 days now after upping from 100mg which I was on for 4 weeks, before that 50mg for 4 weeks. I think this dose might be too high as I have been tired all the time & headaches and nausea alot through the day (I didn't have any side effects on the other doses) if I were to decrease too 100mg wouldn't I get a full benefit from them as they didn't seem to work 100% for me when on that dose before

hey, im on 100mg, and i know what u mean about sometimes it feels like they are not doing as much as hoped
but 4 weeks is not very long, perhaps you could try another month on 100mg? or, you could stick with 150mg and perhaps the side effects will ease in a week or two? it's hard to say which is the best choice as unfortunately everyone seems to have different experiences regarding the dosage

Hi how long have you been on 100mg for - do you have more good days then bad? The 100mg did work for me for about 3 weeks and then the last week my anxiety went through the roof I was feeling so low and sad that's what make me increase

hey i've been on 100mg for about 5 weeks, it is working ok but i do feel some depression and anxiety sometimes, but it is milder now, so i will give 100mg more time (because some people need a few months to feel better). if however i felt like 100mg was clearly not adequate (as in, really doing nothing to help), i would consider upping the dose to 150mg. after one month of upping the dose, if it was not successful, i would consider going to 200mg but only if side effects were at ok levels and not over the top

so it looks like you can either stay on 150mg for longer and see if your anxiety and side effects improve, or go back down to 100mg and give that dose more time, or, consider switching to another med in instead (or, another option: you could go to 100mg sertraline and add a second med with it, to help with anxiety)
there's lots of options available for you, i know it's annoying though having to wait weeks and months for results though, but keep going until you find what's right for you. there's something out there for everyone, so keep trying, that's the important thing. also do some reading up around the internet about depression and anxiety. it's good to feel less confused about it all by understanding what it is all about and how the body works etc

Hello, sorry that you are feeling this way it's a horrible experience going through this. I'm currently on 200mg and I'm the exact same however I've been on these tablets for 2 years. I found as I started increasing my dose - the iller I was getting. They recommend that you wait approx 6 weeks for the dosage to take effect so you might find you feel better then, if not I would go back to your doctor and ask for a different tablet ?? Personally I've had nothing but a terrible experience on setraline but the doctors kept insisting I stay on it. I have an appointment next week to change tablets as the side effects are too much now! You might also find iron tablets help with the tiredness I was put on them alongside my setraline ?? Good luck to you Hun

Hi Chelsea that's crazy ! I can't believe the doctors have kept you on the same tablets for 2 years even though you aren't getting any relief. What are you taking them for if u don't mind me asking? My sister has anxiety like me and she is on citalopram and they have been great for her, I have been reading alot of stories about them on Internet and everyone says how great they are although alot of people do move from citalopram to sertraline cause they aren't working but have a read and see what you think and maybe suggests it to your doctor. Good luck!

It's frustrating but it's because I have been on so many different types of tablets prior to that I started taking anxiety meds at 17 and I'm now 24 so I've pretty much tried most of them however my body grows tolerant to them after a while and I have to change. I'm taking them for extreme generalised anxiety disorder, panic disorder and depression but I've basically been told I need to try and live with it and find my own way of coping. When I was 17 I was on cetalapram and they were honestly really good for me at the start but then they stopped working and I couldn't cope even going outside so they've tried me on many different tablets since then. Currently in suffering the worst anxiety of my life it's absolutely horrendous so I called the doctors going out my mind! I've almost taken myself to hospital as I feel so helpless and trying to look after my 4 month old is so hard with this constant anxiety. What symptoms do you suffer from with your anxiety? I'd give it another 3 weeks or so and if it's not improved I'd call the docs back Hun x
