I think I'm bulimic.I'm scared what should I do?

My bulimia started just a few months ago. I'm not sure if I'm really bulimic because I don't have the time to consult pro's and I'm still a student that's why I can't afford to pay for a checkup. I think I'm disciplined and I don't eat fatty foods.. I only eat oats, milk , breads or sweet potatoes& something like super yummy boiled veggies. BUT sometimes I over eat ( breads) and whenever I over eat I feel like throwing up(and I do throw up) I don't want to get fat that's why i'm doing that...

I'm aware that if I binge eat, I might get some disease but I can't avoid it. today, my friend asked me to go to her birthday. because she's my friend I can't say no to her. I end up eating her favorite fatty unhealthy foods. I was so scared when I got home. I vomit again. I don't want to do that again . but how can I stop it? to be honest I'm only 17yrs old. I still don't know what to do if I get sick because of this. my family is not aware and I'm to ashamed to tell them..

Hi, Think it would be advisable for you to see a dietition first as the intake of your food is not varied enough, also have blood tests at doctors.

Jie, I hope you will tell your parents. You have an eating disorder, but its not your fault. You didn't do anything wrong. In fact, by searching out help, you're doing something very right! Fighting an eating disorder can be difficult, but its much easier if you have a support system, like your family and friends. I can tell that your appearance is important to you, did you know that when you vomit, acids from your stomach and digestive track also come up and can permanently damage your teeth? It can become very unattractive. Please talk to your parents who can assist you in getting help from professionals. They will be able to not only help you overcome the eating disorder, but also teach you techniques that will allow you to maintain a healthy weight in a healthy way. Good luck! I am proud of you for taking the first step in this difficult journey.

jie, how come you do not mention eating food like you more than likely were given at home. Food like lean meat and veg, eggs poached, boiled scrambled in a salad or on toast, cauliflower cheese, fish, fresh or tinned. All have a variety of protien and minerals etc.,Didnt your parent give you some guidance about food intake and how to make good nourishing resonable price meals, like beans on toastor sardines even egg. You need more than starch food and yummy vegetables. Perhaps your parent expected you to know these things but as this isnt so like bobv says get them to help you. Certainly as a STUDENT GET ALL THIS SORTED OUT AS AM PRETTY SURE YOU CAN. you may even be a little home sick. So cheer up and consider advice from bobvi we feel for you and wish progress and understanding pretty soon. See you.
