I think I rubbed the skin off my penis, thought I cut it at first.

Initially l thought I cut my penis masturbating with a node from my body wash caught in between my hand and my penis. A week later after applying neosporin it healed and went away. Tonight in the shower it came back and was bleeding when I got out. I have had unprotected sex once and other partners using protection but it doesn't look like an STI. I am starting to wonder if the Irish Spring soap I have used for years is drying me out when I masturbate and with dry hands is the problem. I'm just nervous and scared that I may have gotten Herpes after trusting someone. The skin that appears removed is under the head of my penis and on the top of my shaft in what appears to be a circle or where the head rests on my shaft when not erect. Terrifying.

How long ago was the unprotected sex?

Stop applying ALL soaps and other forms of body wash including shower gel to any of the skin on your penis - wash with water only, fully rinse away any soap and other body cleansers that have gotten onto your penis at the end of a shower. Fully dry all the skin in your groin region and carefully pat dry all the skin on your penis with a clean dry towel that ONLY you use.

As lance states, you need to post a photo or two that clearly show the problem area that was bleeding .....
