I too have been recently diagnosed with blepharitus after months of suffering from a worsening dry eye problem. The cleansing procedure is quite soothing, but it is all a bit of a fiddle and I have no idea when or if things will improve.

I find the whole condition rather debilitating and fills a lot of my mind time - which is a nuisance as I do have a full time job for heavens sake!

Is there a support group out there somewhere? I feel I am the only one feeling depressed!

Warm comforting words would be appreciated!

    Good morning

warm comforting words it is then.................

Unfortunately there are lots of us in the same boat

try baby shampoo (a few drops) in a bowl of warm water, and gently wipe lids both morning and night using cotton wool balls (good stuff as the cheap stuff may scratch), even when there is no problem with them. It wont stop it flaring up, but will reduce the problem and its frequency. Its a nuisance but getting into the habit is well worthwhile and only takes a few minutes a day.

I find certain situations agravate the issue so notice them when they occur, light dusty environments, air conditioning (some supermarkets are no go areas for me because of the air con), while certain flowers like lilies realy set my eyes off.

Ok, maybe tepid rather than warm words, but reading the other experiences here is my own "support group", keep on typing !

I was diagnosed with posterior blipharitis. My eyes used to get dry as i was not able to withstand the air breeze which comes from AC.

Any way i am using Bliphamide, for a week and i am feeling so good and happy. Bliphamide contains antibiotic and anti-inflamation drug(Prednesol).

As of now inflamation has reduced and i want to continue this drops for couple of weeks and then reduce to once a day.

My problem is i am a computer programmer and i need to sit in front of the pc the whole day. I feel i started this problem after 10 years of contact lense use. My brother is also using contact lense for almost the same time he is also starting to show some symptoms.

I feel contact lense + long computer hours is the cause of my problem...

I totally agree with Khaled, I seem to get bouts of it when I wear contact lenses and sit infront of the computer. I do design work and when I get a flare up it's a nightmare. I've ditched the contact lenses now, I only use them for special occassions. But being at work and having to go out to bathe my eyes is really frustrating. More so because sometimes the people I work with don't think it's a problem and just say "get some eye drops or something". I really wish it was that simple!!!

It's been good to read your comments, and indeed I do feel there is a support group out there! My particular situation at the moment is much improved, but of course I am continuing with the eye bathing and lid cleansing - and is it just me - but what a drag that is!! I know the first kind person said it was only a few minutes a night - but I still hate the whole thing. How long before acceptance comes?
