I too suffer from prickly heat. All the articles I read talk about clothing next to the skin causing this but I am more affected where there is no clothing next to my skin, especially my forearms which end up very itchy, unsightly and uncomfortable. Does anyone else experience this?

    Hi There,

I read your article with interest as I to suffer from prickly heat where there are no clothes. I am now 30 years old but have suffered with prickly heat from the age of about 10.

I have just returned from my honeymoon in mexico where for two days I was in tears due to the itchty burning rash on my forearms, backs of my hands, my chest (again no clothes due to my bikini) and my face. I have tried high sun block, antihystermines, calomine lotion, a gel supplied from mexican doctor, cold and hot showers yet nothing took it away. Have you found any cure yet?

    Many Thanks

    Hi there

I come from Townsville North Queensland Australia which has a very hot, humid climate during the summer months.I have suffered from prickly heat for the past three years usually behind my knees, in my elbow joints and on some parts of my legs where there are no clothes. The itching drives me mad at times and the only relief I get is showering (either hot or cold). I have not tried antihistamines but some corticosteroid creams do help. Let me know if you find a cure.

    Hello.

I read your experience with Prickly heat & find myself in exactly the same position. I hadn`t suffered too badly since I was a teenager until now. Over the last few days my prickly heat has come back with a vengeance, I haven`t even been outside in the last few days but still find myself covered in a head to foot rash. I have tried Piriteze, Piriton syrup, Eurax & Calamine lotion but nothing has eased the awful itching. I can`t cover my body with clothes as this makes me warmer but the rash is so unsightly it makes me embarrassed to show any skin. The only thing I found that helped at all was a bath with salt poured into it but as soon as I got out, the itch started again!! Please let me know if you ever find anything that helps as I fear I may end up scratching layers of skin away!

I's nice to know there are other sufferers as you feel like the only person with big red blotchy arms and chest. I have suffered from prickly heat since my late teens (now 40+) and nothing seems to help. I have tried antihistamines, cold showers, creams but nothing seems to work. I mainly get it on my forearms and chest which are not covered by anything. I would have thought that my arms being exposed to the sun more than any other part of the body would not be affected and would be used to the sun. I wish someone would find a cure as it is a horrible ailment and just spoils your holiday.

I thought I was alone. Everyone I kmow goes on holiday to relax with there family, I end up in a bad mood and crying. I have too tried all sorts of lotions, cold showers, piriton etc. It starts to clear as were going home. All my photos show my itchy, blotchy lumpy rash.
