I Took My First Atorvastatin Dose (40mg), Can I Stop?

Posted , 11 users are following.

I was hesitant about taking it. My doctor mentioned that I was at an 11% risk of heart attack or stroke, therefore, he prescribed this Statin. I just finished reading about it, and side effects AFTER I took the dose tonight. I want to stop it and just don't take it.

I am already making a difference in diet and exercise. I would rather do something like vitamins or herbs. My glucose levels were at 9.2 last March. I have since adjusted my diet and lost a little over 10 pounds. So I think that I could lower the cholesterol by increasing my exercise and diet.

Has anyone just stopped their statin? Was there an adverse effect?

I'd rather do it now before building it up in my system (since I only took one dose so far).

I started having concerns and side effects from atorvastatin at 40mg enough to want to change. I cut it in half to 20 for now. That took away the what call, battery tongue. A tingling burning of my tongue. Ive spent alot of time which I suggest if you haven't already in reading and research statins. My opinion and what I'm doing with lifestyle is goal of being off of them completely.

I just watched a video on YouTube interviewing neurologist Dr. Russell Blaylock, and according to him there's no reason to be taking statins for heart related problems - nay, that some heart related problems are actually caused by statins.  Just search it out.  Go to YouTube and search for "Dangers of Statin Drugs & How They Are Damaging the Brain".  That video will lead you to others.  Very informative and educational.

And don't wait to get off them.  No need to taper off.  Just do it.  As one of those whose mind and memory were affected by them, I went on for a month then off for a month a couple of times and watched what it did both to my cholesterol levels and to my memory.  I have "perfect" cholesterol - the exact word my cardiologist used when I read him off my numbers - and had the same numbers both before and after my heart episode in 2012.  I am now a fully tested believer in not bathing my body in statins for the rest of my life, which is what you do when you take it daily.  I didn't take anybody's word for it, I tested myself for it.  The side effects are real.

Better that I use myself as a guinea pig than to let them do it.

Also search out "Statin Nation" on YouTube.
