I tore my ligaments in my right ankle well over a dozen times , does that leave scar tissue in there

The last time my foot went between two rocks , and ended up going straight back and tore both sides at once. It actually made a loud squishy like noise that didn't sound good. But it burned and was more numb then it actually hurt so being stupid I just keep walking on it , and it kept healing a little then retearing . I did that for 3 months until it started to ache all the time. Doctor told me not to walk on it for a whole month. ok but did that create permanent scar tissue in my ankle.
