I’ve about given up on finding a diagnosis for my back pain

Hi all! Welcome to my journey with my severe and undiagnosed back pain. I'm a 22 year old female who has been experiencing upper back pain for 3.5 years. The pain has continuously grown worse and spreads across my ribcage to my sternum. I have been placed on handfuls of medication that help for a little while, but end up ineffective because the pain worsens. Here is everything I've done for the pain:

  • multiple specialists
  • chiropractor
  • acupuncture
  • various physical therapists
  • MRI
  • CT scan
  • X-rays
  • ER visits
  • breathing/lung tests
  • blood tests
  • muscle relaxers
  • anti-inflammatories
  • high level pain medications
  • probably more that I'm forgetting

Each new method helps for a while, but the pain just gets to a point that it cuts through all medication and exercises/stretches. The two working theories at the moment are that it could be related to PTSD or that my breasts are causing the pain. I have a large chest (36DDD) but I don't believe the pain is caused by them. I know back pain from boobs, and this isn't it. I have an appointment for a consultation with a plastic surgeon in a couple weeks to see if any of their previous patients have experienced the same thing as me.

The pain begins in my upper thoracic back and slowly spreads across my ribcage to my sternum. It is a dull and aching pain that will last for hours. It makes me nauseous to the point of throwing up, and causes sensitivity throughout my whole body. My fiance can't even softly touch my arm or leg without it sending shooting pain to my back and chest.

My uncle has fibromyalgia so I've mentioned to doctors that I think it might be that, but no doctor will even consider it because I am young and relatively healthy outside of my pain condition.

This pain has interrupted my sleep, work, school, basic physical activities, and social life. I don't know anyone else that has had the same experiences and I am desperate for an answer. I appreciate anyone who stays to read my novel of a story and hope someone out there has a solution.
