I’ve been experiencing weird vertigo episodes

Hi, I’m a 16 year old female. I have been having this ringing in my ears for 3 years however I’ve learned to ignore it and I didnt ever bother telling anyone about it. About 6 days ago, I was sitting in class and I had just eaten lunch, I started to feel as if the room was spinning so I went to go walk around and I realized that it felt as if I was taking one huge step or like I was sinking and my balance felt off. I went to the docs and they did a neurology exam for me which I passed. They tested me for anemia and diabetes and any other things that can show in my blood and that all came out negative. The docs told me to go home and rest because I also had a fever of 100°F and my blood pressure kept getting high and low but they assume it’s my anxiety because when they laid me down, they saw that my blood pressure went down. I went around the internet and searched some of my symptoms up which all linked to vertigo which my doctor hasn’t yet diagnosed me with. I am assuming it’s vertigo but I’m also concerned it could be something horrible. I’ve been depressed ever since these episodes, I don’t like to eat anymore and I’ve become lazy in school, this is all starting to depress me.

I think that if you do not feel better soon you should go and have an assessment done with your audiologist. I think you will find thereafter that your Dr will decide what should be done. Then again if it goes away thats great. I dont think you should leave it.

Hello Jay, Sorry to read your post. Vertigo is really horrible and frightening too. Try to to become anxious
as it will make it worse.
Have they ruled out Meniers disease (I think I've spelt that incorrectly) that cuaes awful vertigo. He could have
prescribed a tablet that's available to help with the dizziness.
I take it that you haven't got Eustachian Tube Dysfunction (ETD) where your ear/ears are blocked. If you
have this will cause Tinnitus....I've suffered this for over 30 years !!
High blood pressure, or even low can also cause a dizzy feeling. Everyone always thinks the worse after
suffering an attack of vertigo, but rest assured it's usually nothing to worry about. stress and aniety to
bring it on too. I remember years ago I suffered a really nasty bout of vertigo and so bad I fell over. Ears
play such a big part in our balance mechanism. I suffer Sinusitis and Allergies that can cause ETD wish
then causes Tinnitus and blocked ears.
Try not to worry
Kind regards
Anne
