I've been feeling icky for a week. What could be wrong?

Hi. I've been feeling icky for the past week. It started with abdominal pain around Monday. I had a bit of nausea but didn't vomit. Loose stool, so a bit of diarrhea. And constantly felt fatigued and like something's off. When my stool wasn't loose, it was floating and light in colour. I was tested by a doctor - I'm not pregnant. My bloodwork came out good but I had a high CRP (73.4) - so inflammation. White blood cell count was good. I went for an ultrasound and everything is clear. I felt better yesterday but today it's on and off again. I had dairy for the first time in a while - related?

Background: I've had discomfort below my right rib cage for a while which is on and off for the past 2.5 years. I also started experiencing back pain on the muscle area right next to my spine on the right hand side

I feel icky. It's hard to describe. I'm not nauseous - it's as though my whole body is full of sour milk (head to toes). Stool is still not right. Headaches some evenings these past few days too. I get tired quickly too. I know something is still up with my body but I don't know what. I am unsure of what it could be. Please help me narrow down the possibilities and my options. If I need to see a gut specialist or should go for an MRI/CT scan.

hi Christine, where did you say the pain or discomfort is? (if indeed you get any) Have you been tested for gallstones, appendicitis and coeliac disease as well as lactose intolerance? ask for more bloods, a scan and other tests. Don't guess, it could be the rich food. good luck i hope you discover what this is....

      Hi Sam,

I went for an ultrasound which ruled out appendicitis and gallstones. Haven't gone for a test for lactose intolerance or coeliac disease. Might give the doctor a call tomorrow to ask if we can have these tests done to rule out anything serious. My concern is cancer such as pancreatic cancer - although my pancreas looked good on the scan it could still be early days... I know I am young but I know of 3 people under 30 that got cancer in the past 5 years.

      Kind regards

      Christine

Sounds like it could be dairy related. A gut that is dairy intolerant will certainly react like this. Has anyone suggested that rt rib pain could be an inflamed gallbladder? That light stool could be an indication.

Was it an ultrasound of your Gall bladder? You may have stones forming in the gall bladder.

Gall bladder problems and dairy intolerance often go hand in hand.

      Hi Marina

The ultrasound was for my whole abdomen region including gall bladder. I started excluding dairy from my diet and my symptoms seemed to flare up two days ago after a cup of coffee with milk. I switched to soy milk for now.

I'm still struggling with on-and-off fatigue and I'm not hungry at all. I'm struggling to eat and still struggling in the restroom.

      Kind regards

      Christine
