I've been feeling sick for most of my life.

So this all started about 7 years ago back when I was about 14 years old. I was sitting in history class just like i did every week when i suddenly started to feel like i was gonna throw up. Might be a good time to mention that i think i had a phobia of being sick because of some good 'ol childhood trauma , ). It got so bad that I got sent home from school without ever being sick.

This was just the start of about a year of me feeling like i was going to throw up constantly every day which made life a living hell. The only way i found i could stop myself from feeling sick was by going to the toilets at break times and crying, the crying somehow took my mind off the feeling.

To cut a long story short after blood tests and being put into therapy my dad convinced me that since i had never thrown up in this whole time the feeling was just in my head, which did actually help me as whenever i got the feeling in the future i could suppress the fear of throwing up and get on with my day.

Now after (almost) experiencing my phobia every day by myself I managed to overcome it and i no longer fear throwing up.

But over the past few weeks I have started feeling sick again. which i think may be related to acid reflux although i have never been to a doctor about it.

anyways sorry this is so long. just wandering if anyone else has had any similar experiences and whether you need my advice or you could offer me some im happy to help/be helped.

I'm sorry about your childhood trauma. It's heartbreaking how many children go through that. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

And you could also have acid reflux. Good to see a Dr to see or start taking acid reflux meds yourself to see if that helps.

I think you are suffering from what is commonly called "nervous stomach". Anxiety, and wanting to please and do your best all the time can cause this.

Try to take time out to do 10 minutes of deep but very slow breathing. Try to be in a quiet place and turn off TVs,phones etc so that you can concentrate on your breathing and nothing else. If you can do this twice a day you may begin to feel less stressed.

You could also try finding a yoga class.

This can also feel like acid reflux,so do have a chat with your GP as well. There are several medications you could take to help the nausea symptoms.
