I've been feeling weird and off lately

I'm on .5mg of Xanax twice a day as needed but I take them twice a day. So basically 1mg. I was wondering if it was possible that I could be having partial seizures? I have really bad squeezing headaches, and feelings of derealization and feeling spaced out and was just wondering if I could be having a seizure on such a low dose.

I'm also getting off of the depo provera birth control shot, so idk if some of my symptoms could be coming from that

It's possible that the hormones are messing with you, but you may be having inter-dose withdrawal from the Xanax. The best thing to do is to track the times that your symptoms occur relative to the times that you take your doses.  Benzos can poop out and cause tolerance withdrawal.  How long have you been using the daily?

Yeah I had a miscarriage in March and then got on depo but during my pregnancy I started having derealization. But I've been on the 1mg a day since April I think. Sometimes I just take one .5 and I'm fine. I'm also on and off bleeding/spotting from depo so idk if it's still in my system.

I would go and discuss this with your doctor. Anyone having seizures of any kind needs specialist care, so go and make an appointment. It isn't possible to figure this out online.

    Best of luck, from Tess

Thank you and yes I was just wondering if anyone else had the same symptoms while on Xanax. But my doctor doesn't think I'm having seizures he thinks they're tension headaches.

Hi, i don't think your having seizures; just withdrawal from a long term z drug use. Even though the dosage had stayed the same your body had become physically tolerant to the dose.

As Tess says, go and see your doctor. I did an 8 day cold turkey from 5 x 7.5mg zopiclone a day for 6 month habit, was living hell but even though i got uncontrollable tremours i didn't have a seizure. I'm now on a controlled dose of clonazepam via my doctor. My personal feeling is that z drugs are far more dangerous than the benzos they are supposed to replace. My advice would be to switch over to a relative dose of clonazepam as soon as possible. Z drugs have such a short half life you start to crave them before the next prescribed dose is due and once withdrawals kick in it's almost certain you will ramp up the dosage. Good luck!

Thank you. And yes I've been to the hospital and my doctor he told me he doesn't think I'm having seizures but I'm just starting to feel weird. Some days I'm okay and some days I'm not. I'll definitely ask my doctor about that medicine the next time I see him. Thanks!
