For a while now the back of my tongue has had yellow gunk that sometimes I cough out. I also get a lot of reflux, and I've had this for about a year but only until a few days ago has the reflux gotten really bad and I've gotten really painful irritating pain in my abdomen. Its been happening for the past few nights and it's making it hard to sleep. It also happens during the day, and right now as I'm writing this. I also a few large lumps at the back of my throat, and they're not taste buds, they're exposed and read and big and my tongue always feels like it's been cut or burnt. I looked into it and all the symptoms match up to having yellow tongue. I'm almost positive I have it. But I don't know how to get rid of it. It would be appreciated if I got some help. FYI I'm 13. Thanks.

    Hi Daemon

I think a trip to you Dr is what you should do, there could be a number of reasons why this is happening so the sooner you are told the less you will worry about it being something that it is not.

i would try brushing your tongue with baking soda. if that doesnt do it, swish/brush with peroxide. its probably bacteria.

hi daemon, i just read that yellow tongue, can come from gastritis if the stomach, which makes sense with your acid reflux, and the h pylori bacteria in the stomach. they can do a breath, or blood, or stool test, for h pylori, but the gastritis, usually is diagnosed by scoping you. good luck, ive had both the gastritis, and h pylori, acid reflux, and hiatal hernia, also the gunk in the throat and tongue, and feelings like you have lumps in your throat, that is acid reflux, and gastritis. i had to get on protonix, and watch what i eat
