Please help I'm scared! Ive been having chest discomfort and tightness but it's very minor and dull. As well my left arm gets numb randomly. The only time I really get the chest discomfort is when I take in deep breaths. Whenever I take a deep breath that left side of my ribs and chest area gets tight as well. When I get up fast or walk up the stairs I feel out of breath and my heart beats very fast. Please help ASAP because idk if I need to go to the ERA or what but I'm scared.

Get yourself the the ER, and or local GP, and let them check you out, ECG, or heart tracing, would be first step, just a series of leads that records what your heart is doing.

Do you also have swollen ankles, sweating for no obvious reason, and or what seems like a dry cough when your chest feels tight, even more reason if so get somebody to look at you.

And just to reinforce what Gloria-mike says, do you smoke, are you overweight, and what is your age, all points Dr must take into account if looking at possible heart condition.

Again I am not a dr or nurse, I just have a husband with a serious heart condition, all of the points I have raised are issues he had/has.

Husband is now 7 years on, much more than even the Dr's  yrs ago thought he would live, lots of tablets and pacemaker have stabilised his condition, keeping fit, he walks regularly, and I watch for anything changing, if he gets sick, even a heavy cold he struggles, flu would probably kill him, but touch wood we have been able to avoid being exposed, he gets flu injection as soon as it becomes available, as per heart specialist instructions.
