I've been having pain in the area of lymph nodes of the neck for 6 weeks,what should i do ?

I had unprotected sex on 22february 2019 . After 3 months I went to see the doctor, I got tested for HIV and the results were HIV negative. He told to test again for confirmation after three months and the results still came out negative .Then 1 week after testing I started having pain in the area of lymph nodes in the neck.

What could be wrong with me ****?

    If you are thinking along the lines of a sexually transmitted disease..then have you been tested for syphilis??

      Well..if you are thinking along the lines of possibly a sexually transmitted disease..then it is beneficial to know that syphilis can cause swelling and/or pain in the lymph nodes of the neck..that is somewhat chronic. For awhile..syphilis appeared to be an old foe..somewhat relegated to a back burner. But..there has been a recent reemergence of syphilis..and more cases are being treated..than in the recent past. So..in answer to your question of should you be tested..syphilis is more common than HIV..and can be mistaken for HIV. It would certainly not hurt to be tested for syphilis. Good luck.

    Im sorry to hear that. It reminds me of situation I got myself in when I was in my very early teens during the 80s (in the days before internet of any sort)

    I loved buying the pop magazine Smash Hits & there was a section in the mag for penpals & I wrote to one lad & we met up through our mutual like of Madonna

    Before I knew it we had unprotective sex & 2 weeks later he contacted me & came up to my house accusing me of giving some kind of infection on his private parts -I went to the hospital to put both our minds at rest for a test which came out negative was very relieved because I was stressing out because before the test I thought I did have something but I was glad I didnt
