I am sorry you feel so awful. That is pretty much how many others with gerd feel. I do feel like that occasionally too. Maybe you need to keep a record of what you eat and when. A safer pattern could emerge to show you the more tolerable set of options. I have come to learn that it is not about specific foods as some foods that are good for some act as triggers for others. Timing is also crucial as I found that the time you eat is sometimes as important. Some safe foods are not that safe anymore the moment the reflux is underway.

I used to take meds but decided to avoid them due to possible damage to body organs. Now I control it with watching what triggers it and when I should not be eating. I also drink water often which helps. Good idea to keep a log of what you're eating with time and if there are any reflux issues. Be aware, too, that some things you can eat now may be issues later. For me, a lot of it is timing of which foods I eat.

Start with bland food and then add something to see if you have a reaction.
Good to eat: bananas, melons, oatmeal, yogurt, ginger, lean meats, healthy fats.
Avoid, at least to start, chocolate, caffeine, anything fizzy, onions, fried or spicy foods, garlic, alcohol, and citrus.
When I have oatmeal in the morning I don't have any issues. Be careful what you add to it. I've added raisins and a little sweetener.

Hi. I had acid reflux for 5 years. Common treatment do not solve my problem. Ultimately, doctors tell me the root of your problem is nervous. I came to the psychiatrist and after treating different medications, I finally got treated with "Nortriptyline".
