Don't worry about anymore diets! Eat healthily and sensibly all the time and do as much exercise as possible! Those are the key things that will help you to gradually lose weight.

If you haven't been doing much in the way of exercise then start off by walking, do at least 30 minutes of walking a day every day! Then after a week ncrease it by a further 10 minutes a day for a week. Each week add another 10 minutes and walk as briskly as you can, that os most important!! Keep increasing your walking, soon you'll notice you are losing weight and your clothes becoming too big for you! :-) When that happens you will want to carry on and on slimming down!

When the weather's wet, have a look on YouTube at Leslie Sansone's walking videos, they really will help you, I know as I did those for a few months and felt so good after I lost 2 stone!!!! You need to aim to walk at least 10 thousand steps a day in order to lose weight, buy yourself a pedometer, they are marvellous for helping us all to lose weight...and keep it off, honestly!! Don't forget to drink plenty of water as that will help fill you up, so if you get a bit peckish in between meals, drink a glass of water! Eat fruit or nibble on a carrot when peckish.

Come on, Olivia, you CAN do it, you CAN lose weight!!!! Don't get impatient and remember, it took a long time to add the extra weight so you are not going to lose it quickly - BUT - every day's exercise and healthy eating WILL make a difference!!!!!

I wish you the very best possible to be the slimmer you that is bursting to get out!

I managed to loose 4 stones. Actually I've done this twice by diet and exercise. Willpower and motivation are the main problems, but I had a good technique, just one rule - go to the gym every day. Everything else follows.

I think the thing with weightloss is to avoid boredom by varying chosen diet every two weeks or so. Like the previous message says, make sure to exercise even if only walking. If you fall to temptation, try diets that tell you exactly what to eat, less chance of conning yourself.  Have a look at the Scarsdale diet, it always works for me and gives you two week cycles for variety. Leads to good steady weightloss and helps wean you off the bad foods towards a healthier lifestyle. The more good eating habits you can develop obviously helps you keep the weigh off for good once you have lost it. Good luck

Firstly I would like to acknowledge you for sharing your desire to lose weight and realizing the positive effect being a healthy weight will have on your life.

I agree with Sue (from an earlier reply), don't worry about anymore diets.

Think more about your lifestyle and habits.  A few points for you to consider:

    > Your reasons - What would losing the weight mean to you? What pleasure would it give you? If you didn't lose the weight, what are/is the pain you'd have or continue having?

    > Food psychology - identify what it is that makes you eat or eat certain types of food. A lot of eating habits can be linked with emotional psychology - e.g. a food reminds us of a person, place or situation, or it can comfort us when we feel down, or it gives us something to do when we are bored, distract us from pain, used as a reward.  How can you take action towards changing your thinking about food? [if you need some ideas, please ask me in a reply]

    > What is your goal? I want to lose 6 stone(?) Change the wording to make it more motivating: I want to feel alive, energetic, eat healthy, look in the mirror and be amazed, etc. This can reflect your pleasure reasons (mentioned earlier).

Good luck with your goal and keep taking positive action.

First you need to want to lose the weight, ! I can empathize as I have been there many times, I am currently two stone down and four to go. I started mid November so it does not have to take ages. Over the years I have gone up and down and tried most diets. I think the best way is variety, switch diets every two weeks or when you are fed up, I am currently on scarsdale diet which you can find on line, the main diet is very simple and is recommended for two weeks on and two off. You would lose a stone in the first week as long as you don't start cooking the food in oil and adding gravy and dressings and so on. Others I have found good are slimming world, Atkins, pre op diets, weigh watcher . Recently I tried the 5-2 diet and spoke to someone who lost six stone in a year on that one, you have to be able to do two fasting days a week where you just gave 500 calories for your evening meal but it's doable. Do watch invisible calories, fats sugars. The best thing is to stick with fresh foods and make meals from scratch, there are.otsof hidden fats and sugars in all processed, pre prepared foods. You might also find amazing results by e clouding bread  and flour products from your diet, they blow up my stomach and ms,e me feel fatter.  Good luck and give me a shout if you need any support or tips , I have a nutrition degree do whilst my practice has not alwYs been on track over the years , I do know the theory! I am 60 later this year so am determined that thus is my last diet  and I aim to make my goals!  By the way, any weight loss will notbe permanent if you lapse back to all old eating habits. Adjustments canbe made so you an enjoy your fav foods but cooking methods are particularly Important as is portion. Size. Don't skip meals as you only binge later and that will thro you off course. If you succumb to temptation, you, like me would be best setting out all your menus for the week, shop for them and stick to them. Choose Neal's that fit your lifestyle too, simple and quick to prepare if you are out a lot. Good luck and let me know if you want a weight loss buddy, I've got one!

To loose weight you need to change what you eat and work out at least four times per week. Doing one but not the other will not work.

Food: stop eating bread, snacks, sugary things. Don't drink corn syrup sodas. Instead, increase your protein intake with things like fish, lean chicken, pork. Eat lot of vegetables. To calculate how much protein you need figure out what weight you want to be then for each kilo you need to eat 2 grams of protein daily.

Work out: at least four times per week. Start by doing 50-50 cardio-weights but over 3 months increase this ratio to 70-30 in favor of cardio. By cardio I mean serious sweat like treadmill running or stepper. Walking does nothing.

You may want to read watch supplements that can help you with protein intake, strength, and stamina.

Ultimately, it is up to you to WANT to do all this and restructure the routine of your life around these priorities.

    Hey There,

Yes to loose weight you need to change the Eating Habits. And need to control a lot on eating. All you have to do is, only you have to take care of your body, no one else will do it for you.

So do have a little exercise, go out for a walk. Go for swimimg. Do cycling whenever possible. Drink Green tea, it will help you to reduce weight.

Include healthy food & avoid eating spicy food, junk food.

    Have a healthy Lifestyle
