I've been really depressed lately

I haven't been feeling like myself lately, and by that I don't mean a couple weeks/months, I mean going on for about a year and a half now. I have been dealing with depression and social anxiety and it's only getting worse. I keep having deep thoughts/ overthinking everything about life, death (nothing suicidal) but etc. and as for my social anxiety it's affecting my school work. I'm a 17 year old in 11th grade and I fear that I'm going to fail and have to repeat. I can't even talk to anyone without feeling that wave of anxiety come over, sometimes I skip school just to avoid it, which is causing my grades to drop drastically. Someone please help, thanks.

Have you seen a doctor about this?  If not, first off, I 100% urge you to.  They will recommend you to therapy and possibly get you meds if you want them.

It is very tough being 17 and going through that.  It is the time in your life where you need to enjoy your life and it's crutial that you get the help you need to grow properly in your high school years.  I really suggest seeing a doctor.

I have other tips, but for now, that's what I truly believe will help you the most right now.

I know its difficult to take the first steps to go see a therapist, but what I did was I just mentioned it when I went to the doctor for my cough and it was easy from there.

You need to talk to your parents about this and you need to go to a therapist, I agree with Gerard. Don't let it build up. I let depression build up for years until I had a breakdown. Do it for you you don't deserve to live like this!
