Imo it doesn't look like herpes, and the symptoms you described doesn't sound like herpes sores either. Perhaps you hurt yourself while shaving?

i was thinking that, but i wouldnt get that close to the inside of my vagina. ive been shaving for years and this has never happened. at least i dont think. i wanted to get a swab but being that they disappeared i couldnt, like 3 months ago i was itching down there, when i shave i saw a ulcer. i then went to the ER, she told me that i had bv and a yeast infection and she told me that it could've been from that and being that i just had shaved i couldve bothered it. i wanted to go to my obgyn to swab and make sure but again the next morning it was gone. i dont know at this point. stressed is not even the word.

it is most likely yeast infection or BV rather than herpes! Did you notice any discharge or smell?

the miscarriage may have triggered it. My sister had a miscarriage once and got a terrible yeast infection afterwards, the stress from the whole situation can make it worse too. You said your body has been through a lot lately, this can make your immune system weaker so you experience more severe symptoms.

honestly for the last couple of months i havent had much discharge and when i do its white and thin. it doesnt have much of a smell, or its a smell i cant describe. but i dont feel much itching. so thats why i didnt think it was either of those. but i believe bv can be present without itching correct?

Hey love, I would see a doctor about it. It is likely not anything serious, but it isnt normal so better to get checked out.

Herpes on me looks like little canker sores. Only my first outbreak was painful and i was sick, ive only had one other that I was aware of and it was hardly anything... If youve had it for a while, it can go away very quickly but not likely overnight. If it were herpes, my guess would be that youve had it for some time and didnt have any symptoms but then with the miscarriage your body was thrown off and put under great stress which can trigger it... Another guess I have could be that your skin is too dry or as mentioned above, yeast.

Sam, this is kind of out of topic but I wanted to ask if you know whether you have HSV1 or HSV2? I had the same canker sore looking outbreak but I missed timing to get a swab and now I'm waiting the 13 weeks time to get the blood test. I don't know if depending on the herpes type sores look different or not, but I assumed since we had similar appearance sores we might have the same type of virus.

I have hsv1-genital. Sore appearance on the inner more wet skin of your vulva will be more open/ canker sore appearance. On the skin that is more adverage like where your hair grows, or on a male, sores looks more like actual blisters/bumps that then might turn into canker looking sores. Unfortunatly the only difference between hsv1 and hsv2 is that people with type 1 usually get much less outbreaks. typically only 1-3 in their life time where as people with type 2 typically get 1-5 in the first year.

No problem, let me know if you have any other questions!

hey, i see that some of the women on here appears to have some black or brown spots almost like flat moles or "beauty marks" does that go along with herpes or does that mean something else.

probably not herpes. likely to be just skintags/ moles or beauty marks. I have seen people with dark skin have dark fordyce spots and ask about those as well! The only possible std that could cause these are maybe hpv but those are usually around the skin color too

hi, quick question, why do people get herpes mixed up with a yeast infection and a uti? i dont understand the Similarities

    • Posted

Herpes can cause itching as well as burning during urination, other normal types of infections can cause this too such as uti, bv and yeast. These infections are so common that when people first feel a herpes outbreak they may think it feels similar to when theyve had one of these other infections before and get mixed up... Also it is possible to get a lesion from a yeast infection, so this might be people being hopeful!

if you get this raw area every month around your period ? does that mean its herpes ? since high school ive been getting yeast infections right before my period, and i never treated them because my period makes it go away. i dont know maybe i have light herpes. a day or 2 before my period i have this raw tiny patch of skin pop up. its never bumps if you look really closely you could see whats looks like a tiny scratch. so it i do have it it i dont have the text book like herpes. sometimes its not a tiny scratch sometimes its just raw skin. idk

hmm, based on your situation it sounds to be more like the yeast infection causing it around your period. However I have read of some people who get a herpes outbreak with their period commonly. Next time it happens it might be a good idea to get it swabbed to know for sure. how often does this happen? If it were herpes it is possible to have an outbreak every month while the virus is new (usually first 6 months) or if you are unhealthy or immune compromised (such as having cancer, being pregnant or having diabetes), but after some time your number of outbreaks on a healthy average person would decrease. If its been happening a long time you can safely rule out herpes. Sorry if this sounds confusing.
