I’ve been taking Prozac for 11 weeks30mg for the last two, and I am so tired!!

Posted , 2 users are following.

I started on 20mg, then moved to alternating doses20mg then 30mg. I’m now on 30 mg. I’m tired when I get up and through the rest of the day.

Anxious in the morning. Had a good day on Saturday, but I feel like I’m crawling along.

I’m really sensitive to a lot of these meds, so I was initially put on gabapentin for anxiety, which I still take. 200mg 3x a day. It stopped being effective, hence the Prozac.

I see my doctor on Thursday and I don’t know if I should stick this out? Drop down to 20mg or increase to 40?

I know Prozac takes a long time to get into ones system, and I am trying to go with the flow. Help!

Hi, my anxiety seems to be marginally better. It’s still bad in the morning. My doctor gave me kionopin for that, but I don’t tolerate it very well, so I don’t use it.

I’m exercising more, and trying to go with the flow: but I don’t like feeling so blah!!

Thinking of you and hoping we can both find some relief.

Thanks gray lady I just feel constantly horrible with this anxiety don't think I have ever felt this bad in my life I recently had a miss carriage and had to have a op to clear everything away sounds horrible but it was in reality a unwanted pregnancy still a horrible thing to go through I'm just wondering if hormones have made me worse because last time I felt like this was when my eldest son was born 18 years ago just not sure don't think my doc wants to mess with anymore medication with me because I'm so sensitive had every side effect under the sun feels like this will never end x

      Hi jane98426

I was recently diagnosed as an HSP. A Highly Sensitive Person. This explained to me why amongst other things I was so sensitive to meds.

I’m hoping to at least stick it out with flux as the good days although few and far between are good.

Ask your doc about hormones? They have a lot to answe for !!!! Best Wishes.

Hi...Graylady. Im on 8 weeks of flux. My first 2 weeks was on 10 then when to 20mg now at 40mg. I not feeling any better anxiety still their every morning. Gets a little better in the evenings, but never completely goes away. Dr. Percribed gabapantin 100x2 a day didn't help. Then Buspar didn't work. Now on Vistaril 25mg but also not touching my anxiety. Can ask you is this the first time you are on medication.?

      Hi Sunnyinca,

This is not my first time on meds like this.

I was given most ssri’s Over the last 8 years. I was placed on gabapentin 3years ago and in the beginning it did take the edge of my anxiety. Then I changed doctors and she felt I would do well on Prozac.

The journey so far hasn’t been as bad as when I tried other drugs. BUT the overall fatigue the dizziness., have got me wondering if this is the right drug. I know Prozac takes a long time to enter the system, and there have been some good days. I meditate, exercise checking all the boxes

I hope you find some relief soon!
