I’ve been worried about internal bleeding

Hi!

So this is going to sound so silly but I have anxiety disorder and I'm a huge hypochondriac. Lately for some reason a big fear of mine has been internal bleeding. I did a group hug with my friends and I think one of them was wearing something metal or I don't know, maybe it was just an elbow so it was pressing against the right side of my chest above my breast. It hurt for a few minutes after and then kinda stopped. It hurts a little when I press there so it'll probably bruise, I bruise pretty easily.

I'm 23 years old, pretty healthy with no physical medical conditions. I know this sounds silly but there's probably little to no chance that could cause internal bleeding, right?

Does anyone else get worried about ridiculous things like this?

    Hi,

First of all, you are not being silly, you have anxiety.

Second, I'm sure you don't have internal bleeding.

Third, most of us people with health anxiety often get excessively worried about things that are not too realistic.

Do you exercise? I have found it very good for decreasing my overall anxiety x

don’t worry please. That’s definitely not going to cause internal bleeding. You may have a bruise which would be perfectly normal. Internal bleeding is caused by a severe blow such as like in a car accident or something hitting you with a huge blunt force. keep in mind that anxiety creates unrealistic negative thoughts that are not based on fact. Don’t look things up on Google because sometimes they don’t say what is the more realistic reason for sensations or symptoms. The important thing is that you become aware that your thoughts are unrealistic. Than you need to keep busy so that you are not lost in your thoughts. You’re going to be OK!
