please help ive got myself in suck a state!! i have convinced myself i have got an unruptured brain aneurysm and terrified its going to rupture before i can get it diagnosed. even if i get an appointment at the drs tomorrow which is unlikely i will still have to convince him to refer me for an mri and then wait for the referral which could take months. how can i get this quickly as if i have got one then the sooner i find out the better and if i havent then i need to know before i drive myself crazy

i keep getting headaches in the same place - i thought they were migraines as at side if head and around my eye always on the right side. had them for a couple of years but lately they have got more frequent going from every couple of months to now every few weeks. and i keep getting dizzy too and off balance - my dr has referred me to ent for the dizzy spells but seemed to just disregard the headaches as migraines. when i have looked at the symptoms of aneurysm i have them all - diziness, headache, pain around eye, trouble concentrating and with shirt term memory. ive also got this constant pressure feeling the last 3 days. my husband says its all just anxiety - but i really dont think it is this time. i feel like i am going mad and no one is taking me serious but this is not anxiwty this is my body trying to tell me something is wrong!

sounds a lot like migranes and anxiety to me. my granny died of a brain aneurysm but would never go to doctors. hers didnt take long from the first headache untill it ruptured, it was only a few weeks.

anxiety is a cruel thing with horrible feelings. i think if the doctor suspected this he/ she would of got you straight in for tests.

stop googling sites my darling it always gives worst case senarios which is the worst thing for us health anxiety sufferers. the referrals for brain aneurysms are measured in days not weeks or months as it is a medical emergency as you have probably read. as for the dizzy spells ( which anxiety can cause( you might have something simple as vertigo or a ear infection. migranes can put you off balance aswell. either way push for an mri maybe it will be the reasurence you need.

Hi there! First off- know that brain aneurysms and tumors are VERY common fears for those suffering from health anxiety. I have seen so many other people post similar things as you, and I myself have had the fear of a brain tumor or aneurysm in the past.

    • When I had that fear I had very similar symptoms as yours. I had these sharp zap like pains on the left side of my head, behind my ear. I'd never had them before in my life, and they'd even wake me up from my sleep. I also had constant dizziness, I felt like I was on a boat and swaying all the time. I'd get pressure around my eyes too. I googled and of course freaked myself out thinking I had something wrong with my brain. Turns out - nope! It was just anxiety. I went to my doctor and she was very reassuring that nothing was wrong with me and it was just my anxiety. I began seeing a therapist again after that, and as soon as my anxiety got better all of those symptoms went away.
    • It's crazy what your mind can do to your body physically, but the only thing we can do is go to the Dr and trust their professional opinion. And trust me, I know that is very hard to do... But you have to really rationalize and remind yourself that the Dr knows best, and that anxiety CAN cause all those symptoms you mentioned - as crazy as that may be. So if you see the Dr and they say it's anxiety then try to really focus on calming yourself down and working on coping with your anxiety issues. Guaranteed one you do that your symptoms will lessen and eventually disappear.
