Hello, My problem is at at the back of my foreskin it always looks red and sore. I dont know if this is due to irritation, having tight skin, or an infection?
Also, i was wondering if Pearly penile pauples could be making the ridged part of my glans really sensitive, or if this is normal, or not normal and just my glans.
lastly, i wondered if anybody can masturbate onto a dry glans without pain. i am able to when using lube but not very well otherwise. and will this be less of a problem during sex, bevause i imagine a hand and a vagina will be different materials.

I can masturbate with dry glans as long as they're clean and not sticky, as that makes it more painful. You just need to hold the foreskin and use it as a form of lube.

That's what I do, I just wasn't sure if that was normal, thank you.

In terms of this Joe: " My problem is at at the back of my foreskin it always looks red and sore. I dont know if this is due to irritation, having tight skin, or an infection? "
it is due to irritation - you do not describe what you do to clean the inner-foreskin and the lower part of the head / glans of your penis. What this could actually be is irritation due to the almost constant presence of moisture. This can be due to a number of, or combination of liquids being present - but, you need to get your washing practices right: NO SOAP or shower gel or anything like that - use warm, NEVER HOT running water either from a tap or shower, rub with you fingertips to clean. You MUST remove ALL moisture, so after washing get a clean dry towel that ONLY you use and carefully dry your groin region first then work towards the tip of your penis using dry parts of the towel and remove all moisture.
You will need to do this after each time you are sexually aroused or have ejaculated - make sure to clean away any lube you may have used ....

Thank you for this response. I did not get a notification so did not see until now. I will try what you told me. I was always afraid it was something else causing the redness.
Will moisturising be a problem with this?

Yes, when you have what you show in photo 1 you should quite literally apply nothing to your penis, other than water - and this is why I detailed doing a clean up on every occasion following sexual arousal and ejaculation .....

Okay, I will do as you say and hopefully it will work. Do you think it is possible to get it looking better and how long do you think it will take before I start seeing results.

Okay, not sure whether you said you are currently sexually active or not ....? If so, the complication may be your are picking up a yeast / fungal infection from unprotected vaginal, or bacterial infection from unprotected anal or receiving oral.
In the case where there is no current sexual contact the fundamental is that the skin of the head / glans and foreskin of the penis area is that the skin is quite unlike that elsewhere on the body.
More specifically, in photo 1 the area is very susceptible to the presence of ANY moisture and this is why I detailed the do's and don’ts of what you need to do.
So yes, if you exclude ALL the sources of irritation - and this is not always as straightforward as it would seem - then you will see improvement. If you have no sex or masturbation that will greatly help too - unfortunately in terms of time and abstaining, I would suggest 3 weeks is the very basic minimum.
However, for this level of irritation it could even be 3 to 5 months - or even longer - before you begin to see the skin looking more healthy.
The dilemma you may have is if you were able to seek the help of a Dermatologist in the next few months would be whether to start applying medication to clear this. The problem being, even for a Dermatologist familiar with genital skin disorders the first medication they give you may not solve the issue, this would therefore require using subsequent treatment to see which one worked best for you.
All too often men who have posted on here stating that they have tried lots of different medications but none have overcome the problem, and, each time a different treatment is tried this means the problem is present for even longer, with typical presence of symptoms still being present for way over a year or more.
This is why I prefer the approach of trying to return the penile skin to its natural state, and if there is no irritation consistently present, healing will eventually take place .....

This is very helpful thank you, I am not sexually active and will try and hold off from masturbation. I have done for the past 3 days and it is a struggle, but I will try. I am cleaning my penis with water and drying as regularly as I notice moisture from anything on it. I will try and carry this on for the next 3 weeks and I will update this post.
Thank you for your help, I really do appreciate it.
My last question would be, when should I try and go to a dermatologist; could it cause more problems delaying it, or is it a case of my penis skin will begin to heal very slowly and I might need to go if it isn't fully healing after so long?
Thanks Dugie!!!

As I have detailed, if you visit a Dermatologist and they give you a medication, and the medication does not resolve the issue - and this is quite common - you risk lengthening the time it takes for this issue to be resolved.
So yes, your skin should begin to heal naturally, as long as there are no irritants present - the unknown is how long this will take - it could be relatively quick, say 3 to 5 weeks, on the other hand it could take 3 to 5 months ....

Hi again, I found that after associating masturbation with my problem that I now have formed a slight fear of arousal. I can still get an erection and ejaculate, but it seems much more difficult to not get anxious and lose my appetite for anything sexual. this has also worried me because I don't want to get ED from this psychological thing that happened especially as I was planning to have my first sexual encounter after lockdown.
Having tried masturbating again I have noticed that this has irritated the skin and left it sore and I am not sure now whether I should restart the process of avoiding masturbation as I don't know how to avoid the mental effects that this has had on me.

It is best to keep approaches to issues like this as simple as possible - try to abstain from masturbation as long as you can otherwise you risk overcomplicating it and it becomes something other than about pleasure.
Try abstaining for the full month, then push it forward from there: add the weeks and months following this - if you manage to get to 3 months that is really good.
Yes, you may need to really focus your attention elsewhere, but if you can achieve this, not masturbating can become easier and begin to become an easier habit to engage with ......
