You really need to go see a pain management doctor. They have a lot of ways to help relieve your pain. Obviously a lot of pain management doctors prescribe opiates for the pay and that of course is a personal choice whether you want to do that or not. But there's also a nerve stimulator that they can implant in your back that helps with the pain blocking the messages of pain to your brain. I don't know if you can have this implanted in your back if you have any metal from the surgeries. It's very similar to a TENS unit only it's in your body. Speaking of that have you ever tried a TENS unit?

Hi I am sorry to hear you are in allot of pain and don’t seem to be getting any help.

I have chronic pain from Sherman’s disease kyphosis and have previously been under a pain management team. They were very good helping with all the aspects of the condition and the related pain.

I was on opioids but have just detoxed the most potent one if all fentanyl so believe me I know what your going through. My pain is back with a vengeance almost like it’s ounishing me for using the fentanyl.

I use oxynorm concentrate liquid at about 120mg a day at present as well as declifenac injections and gabapentin with meloxicam.

I have to take close to 40 tablets a day plus my oxynorm abd injections to even get close to the pain.

Most days I am bed bound even with all the meds but If I try to do something like play with my son it help my partner who is also my full time carer with something in the house The pain starts surging within seconds and just escalates from there.

I have nothing to stop the pain niw once my spine locks that’s me done I have to lay down.

In my opinion I would advise you not to start down the road of opioids because you will at first think they are a Miricle but you will find your body will build a tolerance to then and the dose will have to be upped constantly until you find yourself a different person and like a zombie.

Please if you are offered fentanyl try to refuse it changes your whole personality and life and basically sucks the life out of you. I have said now I have got off it after years that I would advise people to not go on it and it’s nasty.

Believe me the detox is nothing short of hell.

They use gabapentin now to control nerve pain this might be worth asking your doctor about as it has a larger scope of dosage than many other meds including opioids which obviously are the strongest pain killers around.

I have read though that some people don’t get on with the drug and don’t like what it does to you but I have not had any problems with it so far.

You could try co-codamol or something similar to that it might help.

Or maybe see if the doctors think an anti- inflammatory would be better like declofenac or meloxicam.

I am not a doctor so pls don’t take my advise as gospel always check with the GP to see what’s best.

I hope I have been able to help with the but I’d advise I have given and I hope that you get some relief sooner rather that later.

I have found that the forums are a real help and if it wasn’t for the kind words and encouragement I got from here while doing my detox I don’t think I would have made it till the end. The people have been a great help.

I am happy to answer any questions you may have or just chat there are always people to talk to so you are not alone.

I also agree with AMKOFFE with regards to the tens machine use that help me allot during flare ups I have two different ones one tens belt which is really good and also I unit with four individual pads connected to the unit that sits on your belt or in a pocket. I wear then allot the help when the pain get really bad. May be worth a try for you.

Good luck for the future and hope you get some relief soon.

    Andy
