I've had a cold/sinus problems for years non-stop

Hello, I'm a 20 year old male and for as long as I can remember I've had nose problems. I once got detention for sniffing too much in class because I'd gone through a whole pack of tissues. I can't leave the house without at least one full pack of tissues because my nose will start running at any point. Either that or it will become completely blocked, this always happens at night which makes sleeping uncomfortable.
About 2-3 days are week are what I would call "allergy days" where my eyes water and feel swollen, my nose feels tickly and and I sneeze very frequently. I'd like some help with this as for years it's been a strong annoyance/distraction, for example whilst motorbiking, I have to keep pulling over because my nose is literally leaking all over my face. It's made me develop a weird need to immediately check where I can find tissues when I'm in a new place in case I run out. It's obviously not a life crushing affliction but it's just like being poked repeatedly throughout the day, for years. I would appreciate any advice as my doctor keeps trying to push things like cetirizine on me, which I've tried extensively, as with piriteze, absolutely no effect. I've tried things like lemsip, vaporub bowls, albas oil, some things provide temporary relief but it always comes back.
Would appreciate any help on the subject.

So sorry you have this at such a young age. I am 68 and mine only came on four years ago. Ryhinitis all year round. Yes I wake with a really full sinus, I have to blow my nose sometimes for a full 10 minutes. I do think mine is exacerbated by some foods, if I have too much sugary things or too much white wine. I have tried many sprays and antihistamines. The best antihestamine for me is Fexofenidine, it doesn't make me sleepy either. Sterimar isotonic spray also, this is just a salty water spray in an aerosol. I do think this ones a good idea, no problem of over use as just water to help clear it. Montelukast is another I have been prescribed with, it reduces phlegm and nasal mucous. Drink plenty of water to help conjestion problems. I hope your GP can help reduce your problem.

Hi,
have you you checked what you are allergic to? If you haven't, do that to ascertain. I am allergic to dust mite and so my congestion becomes acute at night and when I wake. Since I took actions to reduce dust mite exposure, my congestion has been reduced drastically. Find out what you are allergic to first and take it from there. Hope this helps.
