I've had an abscess on my leg that's now developed a purple blister on it.

hi, im a 36 y/o male. ive developed and abscess on my outer thigh that has been progressively getting worse over the last 10-14 days. today, within about 3-4 hours, a big, purple blood blister showed up on top of the abscess. its incredibly painful and i can't seem to identify what's caused it. ive had one of these things once before and it left a hole in my leg about 2 inches tall, 1/2 inch wide and about a 1/2 inch deep. i never figured out the cause of that one either. The "blood blister" is about the size of a pennyimage
