I’ve had breast tenderness for over a month!

ive had 3 exams by 3 different doctors. they all say im fine. im a hypochondriac so i excessively worry and focus on my symptoms. i just find it frusturating that on line everything is about cyclical breast pain. i cant find anything that says some women just suffer with breast pain constantly. surely i cant be the only one? is there anyone else out there that has dealt with breast pain more than just during their cycle?? it would be great to hear so i dont feel all alone and panicked. thank you

Are you on the pill or taking any hormones?

think about everything you have done different since your breast pain started. Are you eating a different diet? or maybe doing something new physically? Have you put any weight on recently?

i have done nothing differently! the only thing is i feel like my hormones are out of whack. ive had horrible cramps all month. i am on my period day 3-4 and still have cramps! usually they go by day 1 maybe 2. maybe im just off this month. i just feel discouraged because i was hoping more people had experience with this to help calm my irrrational thoughts.

have you been tested for polycystic ovarian syndrome? I have it and I suffer very bad cramps. Some months are worse than others. I also get very painful lumpy breasts, I can't even wear a bra sometimes.

Are you over 35? If you are you could possibly be getting perimenopause. Or maybe it is a really bad case of PMS. Is there any chance you could be pregnant? Women can still bleed when they are pregnant. Have you taken a test?

hi... i dont have pcos. i know im not pregnant because i havent had sex. i think my hormones are just very out of whack right now. to be honest, for the last year i have suffered with severe hypochondria. not in a haha way like just stop worrying way but in a way that has ruined my life and my families life. i have honestly gone to the ER 10 times in the past 2 months. i go to a doctor at least twice a week. if my back hurts, right now, i am sure it is cancer in my spine. i have a sore throat and i think its throat cancer. Every day i believe a symptom i have is cancer. i am in tears every day. i see a specialist and have been this whole time. i have tried every med out there with not a lot of luck. sorry to spill all this info i just have no one to talk to and sometimes i just need to get it out. i am scared beyond belief i will never get over this. i dont know where it came from and why it wont go away. tired of crying and feeling hopeless and scared everyday. 😦

I'm sorry you are suffering like this. When I had any pain it was a different make of bra that caused it. I forget the details now, it is such a long time ago.

Remember, when you do an internet search for breast pain, you will mostly find articles on breast cancer. That's NOT because it's the most likely cause but because there are more articles online about breast cancer than anything else. That's what most people are concerned about. Most breast pain has nothing to do with cancer.

If three doctors told you not to worry, then you shouldn't worry. You were smart to get three different opinions. Being a hypochondriac and constantly worrying about medical issues actually causes stress and pain. As long as you are worried about it, you won't feel better.

Take comfort in knowing three doctors have told you that you're healthy.
