I’ve had constipation and it’s affectung my life

Hi. I’m 15 and I’ve had constipation on and off for around 2 months. It’ll be somewhat manageable for a week but now, it’s affecting my life to the point of being unable to move. I’ve tried Senna and Dulcolax as recommended by my doctor however I still struggle to have any sort of bowel movement. I’m spending more and more time off as I physically can’t do anything. I’m taking Meberevine to try calm it down and that sort of works. People won’t believe me on how bad it is but it’s getting hard to live with. Has anybody had any solutions to this?

Thanks

So uncomforable for you   have you perhaps considered whether you have enough fibre in your diet (I find Oatbran so very helpful-it WORKS), of course it goes without saying plenty of water is necessary to help flush out the system too.. I can also recommend Aloe Vera to soothe the intestinal tract..

The Gut System is immensly sensitive and complex ...our thoughts and feelings impact on the nervous system too affecting digestive processes..If you are aware of any underlying tension/anxiety you could mention this to your doctor..he may be able to advise some deep breathing exercises and/or Yoga..?

Good luck ..a solution is 'out there'..

Wow. I certainly have been there before and I felt the exact same way you do. That people think Im crazy and over exaggerating, in tremendous pain, feeling depressed also. Ive had to lay in bed for days sometimes weeks at a time because it would be sooo uncomfortable to move. I have been dealing with constipation for years. I, on the other hand, have figured out where the majority of it has come from. But from having to be sent to the hospital twice for this exact issue actually a few weeks ago.. they would administer an enema which I was deathly afraid of, but it worked to get my impactions out. (I was very backed up so Im not saying thats what you have or anything). But every single time after getting everything cleared, Id start Miralax & Im telling you it worked absolute wonders for me. It literally saved my life. I am able to go everyday now, its not perfect because it actually sort of went the opposite direction for me but Im totally fine with that considering what Ive been through. If you havent already tried it, its worth a shot. Ive been taking it twice a day and Ive had zero issues since. I also love what the person above me said also, you can get through this, trust me. There are people out there that go through the same thing. Drinking lots of water is key in my opinion and a healthy diet. Good luck and I truly hope you find a solution!

I hope you are doing better, or at least soon will be!

Note nic11143 wrote the hospital would administer an enema which worked.  Enemas have never failed me!  The large-volume soap suds type, that is. While I hope it doesn't creep you out to think of giving yourself one, it's really not bad, certainly not as bad as painful constipation, and once you've done the first time, it it won't bother you to to take another again when needed.

So I'd suggest buying an enema bag and using it.  If you want details on what I do, let me know, and I'll be happy to share them.
