I've had this red area in my penis/foreskin for over 3 weeks.

Hi.

I've had this red area in my penis and foreskin for over 3 weeks now, and it doesn't seem to improve. In fact, it seems that the red area is a bit larger now. If I touch it directly or rub it, I can feel a little tenderness or irritation and I think the penis scent has been stronger since this began, but other than that I don't really feel pain. It is just red, and it doesn't get better.

I haven't had sex since I have noticed this in order to avoid causing any further damage and in the hopes it would go away with rest and good hygiene. But it didn't go away. So, because I didn't see any improvement, I started applying an anti-fungal cream with clotrimazole 4 days ago, but to no avail. No change has occurred at all.

Do you have any idea what this might be? I have already scheduled an appointment with an urologist, which will only take place a week from now, but I am already freaking out over this.

Thank you.

Hi you should have it checked man. Do you have some degree of Hypospadias?

It is the first time I hear about this condition, but it was never diagnosed to me. By the definition of it, I understand why it may appear I have it, so I guess if I have some degree of Hypospadias it is very mild as I have never had any symptom or problem with erections, passing urine or ejaculating.

Regarding the problem I exposed in this post, yeah I will check it next week with the urologist. It has just been like this for so long that it begins to bother me and making me anxious while I am waiting for the appointment.

It's just in your last photos your meatus seems to be on the side where the frenulum should be maybe I'm mistaken? Or it's the angle of photo. You could ask the urologist about it when you speak to them.

What Ivan is stating is correct - your penis has not developed in the normal manner. And yes, I have checked and this is what Hypospadias is - perhaps that is not what you are concerned about (?)

Only a Urologist can explain what the options on this would be.

In terms of the redness and using the clotrimazole you need to give this up to 14 days of continual use as per the instructions to see if it will clear - the Urolgist will guide you further on dealing with this.

Hi. Yes, that is not what I am concerned about. As I replied to Ivan, I have never had problems because of it, and no doctor has ever said anything about it.

The issue I have is only that red area on the side, right between the glans and the beginning of the foreskin. Thank you for your reply. I have used clotrimazole only for a few days as I was not sure what this is, only to see if I could see any improvement - I read that after 3 days the symptoms should start to fade, but that didn't happen, so perhaps I need indeed more time using it. I hope you are right and treatment with anti fungal will be enough to cure this. In a few days the urologist will hopefully provide a clear diagnosis.

      Thanks again.

No, by using an antifungal - as often medical professionals will prescribe it to SEE IF you have a fungal infection - therefore, if after 14 days of using an antifungal correctly it is reasonable to say the problem is a fungal issue, or not. That is = try a medication - outcome potentials = i.) - problem cleared; ii.) - no overall improvement = try a different approach / medication

If you update after seeing the Urologist that would be helpful ....
