I've had what I think is recurring sinusitis for 4 years, what to do?

For years I have continuously had a stuffy sinus which usually lasts 4-6 weeks and eventually my nasal mucus becomes bloody. Then, soon after, as my immune runs down, I come down with flu like symptoms. It always starts with inflamed glands at the back of my throat then it usually turns into a massively congested sinus for 3 days. This entire cycle can repeat after only a month. The longest I've gone without this is about 2 months.

Is this just sinusitis?

I don't have general allergic symptoms - no itchy eyes or nose.

I use a netty pot twice a day and have tried months of Nasonex.

What else could cause this?

I had a headache, sinus pressure and congestion for 3 months. I had all the expensive test and medications including 5 antibiotics. I increased my water intake to 3 L a day and within 72 hours my ears opened and sinus started to drain. Dehydration will has histamine to release in your body causing inflammation. Hope this helps

One thing to help your immune system is Vitamin C. Would get a headache myself usually, though very rearly now. As I make sure I am well hydrated. Mindy32972 is correct in increasing fluid intake.

regardless your nose is not itchy, have you been tested for allergies or not? have you had a ct scan?
