I've just got back from a lovely holiday but have had a migraine nearly every day.

I know the sun can affect me so I always wear big sunglasses and large hat but this time I have had a migraine nearly every day. I was on a cruise and some days the sea was very choppy and I wasn't sleeping very well so it may have been tiredness as well. I am waiting to see the neurologist again because I have tried nearly all types of preventative meds and nothing appears to work. Sumatriptan works brilliantly but I've already taken about 4 this week. The last time I picked my presciption up from the chemist he told me I shouldn't be taking anymore than 12 a month. So, I've got back from my holiday today and I'm sitting here with the start of another migraine wondering if it is safe to take any more. Also I'm getting so fed up with keep getting them. Any help please.

I feel your pain Physically and metaphorically! Its a constant battle of should I take another triptan or not. Should I be pain free or not. You just can't win ...it leads to pain either way.

Hi there, I to feel your pain, the thought of being at sea with a mag rain makes me feel sick just thinking about it.

This time last year I was having almost daily migraines, I'm going through the menopause and my migraines and hormones are very unpredictable, I was running around like a blue ar&e fly helping my daughter prepare for her wedding. It should have been a really great mother daughter time but it was a nightmare. The thing that got me through was almost daily triptans. If you google 'daily triptan use for migraine' there is some really interesting reading. I did keep a copy of an interesting artical but I can't seen to find it. I did post a link on here a while back but I can't find that either (I'm putting that down to my foggy menopause brain)

Since that horible few months last year my wonderful doctor has put me on beta blockers and they are doing the trick and helping with my migraine and anxiety.

Im still here to tell the tale of taking more than 12 triptans a month they didn't seem to do me any harm. Hope I was of some help. Take care

No advice I am afraid. I was on holiday last week and my headache started on the Monday and I have been having headaches ever since they are getting slighly better. Nothing seems to chift them. I have tried Anadin Extra and Neuromol. I just am assuming they will get better eventually.

an advert keeps coming up at the side of this page for '4head' we could try that!!!
