I've noticed that my RA seems to be worse when I'm on my menstral cycle.

This is common due to prostaglandins increase, but products like advil block them. Just use another medication to counter those issues. Also if you limit your intake or even eliminate coffee and chocolate type foods, colas a few days before you should see the prementral symptoms diminishing. Any flare of RA can be tamed somewhat by going vegetarian. There is definately a food componant to this disease. One of the reasons Methyltrexate works for people who tolerate it, (I didn't) is because it has an anti-metabolyte portion that causes those offending foods to pass right through. But don't suffer in silence, if it gets particularly bad your Rheumy can have you on a short course of steroids.
