    Hello Dean,

You are certainly not alone, there are great people on this site, who are really helpful. I am trying not to rely on meds anymore, such dreadful side effects and still in pain and tired. Of course if you have other conditions you must take the meds. I have come off mine with docs help and approval. Just started on a chronic pain management course, based around 'mindfulnes'. It involves ACT ( new to me). Acceptance Commitment Therapy. I have tried CBT in the past, worked well for depression. But I think now ACT may be the way forward. Hope so, I have a 9 week course to look forward to. Free on the NHS in this area, Hampshire. Just another thing for us to consider, and be aware of.

    Take care, Anne

I joined this forum March 2015, and this forum has some amazing people that share their own experiences and it's great to know that none of us are alone.

Look forward in hearing about your experiences.

Hi Dean your certainly not alone here we are on here to support each other and help if we can by giving advice and sharing our own experiences. Fibro affects us all different in the severity of it. it also throws lots of different symptoms at us. which can last a day or longer. we all find different was of copeing and finding out what suits us and what doesnt. the hardest thing is learning to pace yourself. by just doing a bit a day, as if ou do too much fibro can hit ou back hard. fibro is a learning curve for us all and it takes some adjustment. as the old us has gone and its getting use to the new us. but we will get their a step at a time. we are all in this togeather. hope the accupuncture, hydro pool and CBT goes well for you. take care gentle hug

morning Dean how are you hope your not in too much pain today. I wondered if you had a shop called Ableworld where you live, they specialise in aids for people with disability. If you register with them on some things you pay VAT and on some items you pay no VAT. They sell all sorts wheelchairs stairlifts chairs grabbers supports commodes walking frames, cutlery cups etc. They are worth a visit if you have a store they are very helpful and knowledgeable in what they sell. I brought my wheelchair and quite a few aids off them, and made a saving off some items that I bought as some othe items I didnt pay VATon. Just thought it may be of some help to you its always worth knowing whats out their for us to aid us.take care
