I've taken sertraline 25mg for 6 months.is taking this medicine for a long time has any bad effects to health.?im so worried though i've taken it in a low dose.

    I have not noticed any adverse side effect accept increased libido.

    My doctor advised me that there are no negative health affects associated with taking Sertraline as a long term medicine. Although most people are prescribed 50 - 100mg, many people take up to 250mg for years so you are also on a low dose so try not to worry. Side effects are normal but there are no time limits, you can take this drug for as long as you need it. Good luck

    I have been taking Zoloft for nearly 10 years.  I take 150 mg and have not had any health issues from it.  Try not to worry about it and do whatever is best for you.
